Just a quick announcement for my customers and fans… get ready for some fun pet portraits coming your way! I am adding a new style of pet portrait to my repertoire. Pop art pet portraits!

When you decide to have a portrait created of your pet, there are so many options it can be hard to know which style or type of portrait to choose! Would you want a realistic pet portrait, something symbolic and meaningful as a memorial of your pet, a bright and colorful pet portrait, a pop art pet portrait, or maybe something completely custom and unique, with you and your pet together in the portrait! 

I offer all of these options and more, painting pet portraits from your photos in a variety of styles and on a variety of mediums.

I originally painted the sample shown in the photos for my own little girl's room. She loved it and said, "Mommy, I look so powerful!" when I hung it above her bed. I immediately decided to offer it in my shop so that, I hope, many other little girls will feel similarly empowered to see their own caricature painted in this iconic image.

The painting itself is created on a high quality, archival canvas, gallery-wrapped on an extra-deep 1.5 inch deep stretcher bar. I use only professional quality acrylic paints and canvasses, just like I do for the paintings I send off to art galleries and art shows. Even if it's intended for kids, I make sure that this is still an heirloom quality piece. I also install a professional, strong, coated hanging wire for you, so it's ready to hang the moment you pull it out of the box.

Monsters are friends, too!

This painting allows you to order a large, hand painted portrait of your own child or children right in the middle of this whimsical monster scene! Who knows what amazing adventures your children and these adorable monsters are up to. Only their imaginations can set the limits!

This idea began when I painted the original "Monster Parade" painting with my own son leading the march. A mom-friend loved it and asked if she could order one just like it with her two sons. I decided to open it up to orders from anybody, and have the listing in my Etsy shop.

It is painted by a professional artist (myself), and because you are ordering something with most of the design already set, you are not going to pay the huge cost of a completely custom painting like this at that size.

I was originally contacted about painting a Dia de los Muertos portrait of a woman by somebody who had seen my Dia de los Muertos pet portraits. I was thrilled and really enjoyed painting it. Visitors to my studio who saw if on the easel loved it as well, and that was my sign. I am now offering these beautiful portraits in my shop. This colorful pet portrait is painted on canvas, with as much or as little bold use of color as you'd like. These portraits tend to have a lot of energy and really brighten up a room.

Day of the Dead Pet Portrait on Rice Paper

These sugar skull portraits are painted in more of a "tattoo" style, on beautiful, hand-made rice paper with a gorgeous emulsion of sea shell powder that gives it a lustrous surface. They include your pet's name in a banner as shown.

Day of the Dead Style Pet Memorial

Similar to the previous portrait, these are painted in a Day of the Dead style with your pet's name in a banner. The difference is that these are painted on canvas, so there are more size options, and the entire background is hand-painted with flower accents. This is a popular pet memorial painting.
